At Montana Boarders, we do our best to deliver unforgettable lake days — but we know plans can shift. This policy outlines when refunds, credits, and rescheduling are possible so everyone's on the same page (or paddleboard).


Refund Eligibility

We offer a full refund to your original payment method in the following situations:

  • You cancel at least 48 hours in advance of your scheduled rental or session
  • Unsafe weather conditions prevent us from delivering or launching safely (we'll always try to reschedule first)
  • We cancel due to staff illness, equipment failure, or logistical issues and you're unable to reschedule

You may also choose store credit instead of a refund — your call.


Cancellations Between 24–48 Hours

Cancellations made between 24 and 48 hours before your scheduled rental or session are eligible for store credit only. No cash refund will be issued.


Non-Refundable Situations

The following situations are not eligible for a refund or store credit:

  • No-shows or cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance
  • Missed sessions due to late arrival
  • Rentals that were delivered and used, even partially
  • Sessions ended early by the participant for personal reasons

Security Deposits

A fully refundable security deposit is required on select rentals and is separate from your rental charge.

  • Security deposits are returned to your original payment method within 3–5 business days following the return of all gear in good condition
  • Deposits may be partially or fully withheld for damage to equipment, missing items, or excessive cleaning required beyond normal use
  • Gear returned late without prior notice may result in additional charges deducted from the deposit

Weather & Safety Policy

We operate in light wind, scattered clouds, and general Montana unpredictability — that's part of the magic. However, your safety is always the top priority.

If conditions include lightning, extreme wind, wildfire smoke, or unsafe visibility, we may postpone or cancel your rental or session. We'll communicate as early as possible and will always attempt to reschedule before issuing a refund.

Weather cancellations initiated by Montana Boarders are eligible for a full refund or store credit at your preference.


Rescheduling Policy

We're flexible and we want you on the water.

  • Reach out at least 48 hours ahead to request a date or time change — we'll do our best to find your new ideal slot
  • Rescheduling requests made within 24 hours are not guaranteed and subject to availability
  • We allow one complimentary reschedule per booking; additional changes may require rebooking

Damage Policy

All gear is delivered in clean, fully functioning condition. Renters are responsible for the gear during the rental period.

  • Minor normal wear is expected and covered
  • Damage beyond normal use (tears, cracks, lost equipment, broken components) will be assessed and billed to the renter
  • Photos are taken before delivery and upon return for reference in any damage disputes

Business Disclosure

Montana Boarders and Montana Boarding School are operated by E-Boarders LLC, doing business in Montana under assumed business names. All bookings, payments, and rental agreements are through E-Boarders LLC.
